Last vestiges
Remnants of the Past: It indicates the last, often
small, parts of something that was once larger, stronger, or more
important.
Examples: The "last vestiges" of a colonial past, or
the "last vestiges of hope".
Physical Remains: It can refer to tangible, surviving
fragments, such as ruins.
Example: A few columns were the "last vestiges" of a
temple.
Idiomatic Uses: It is used to describe the final,
weakening hold on a concept, such as "clinging to the last vestiges of
power".
No AI used in the construction of the video, just my own photographs
plus DAZ3D model Cora Thwaites.
Video
slideshow rural pickings with a camera or what takes my eye
About ten minutes away from where I live is some quite nice
countryside. I walk around and take pics of what I find just to please
myself. I thought it was about time to include some of them into a
video or slideshow.
Some are out of camera one is using my own technique of 'only black'
another uses a 'paint' filter. There are lanes, field roads, close ups,
a village through some trees and their leaves and some Pine trees in a
soft light.
I used Rob Jackson's iPad app 'pianoscaper' for the ambient audio
track,
through a stereo Behringer UCA222 USB audio interface to a laptop
running the Tracktion Waveform 13 DAW and out of that through the
Valhalla Super Massive plugin with my altered EQ version of Libre Bloom.
A
short video for
a post-apocalyptic time capsule, Cora Thwaites in rural ballet
poses.
Cora is a DAZ3D G3F model created by Adam Thwaites in Scarborough. She
can be posed right down to her individual finger joints, as an amateur
ballet dancer I can arrange her quite close to some of the famous
ballet
poses. She always tums up, is never late and will gladly attempt any
pose.
I made this for a video art call;
OPEN CALL
Movies for the Apocalypse comes to SET Vault in May 2024 for 3 curated
evenings of films on the theme of the apocalypse.
Curators Agatha Scaggiante and Gisela Mulindwa are selecting short
films for a post-apocalyptic time capsule, to show people of the future
what our lives were like before the (maybe) impending Big Collapse.
They are accepting short film proposals (under 20 min) of any genre
under the theme which is encouraged to be creatively interpreted.
My idea was to create scenes with Cora posing in the English
countryside odd bits in it to show the deterioration that might occur
to the
scenes.
A portrait emerging from the trees,
closed eyes and concentration.
No one knows about the thoughts behind the pose.
Trees photographed by myself at a location close to my home.
A mixture of rural and urban images
cross fading, moving and diagonally travelling

At the end of the video is a photo of the simple audio equipment used
to make the drone/ambient sound track
The audio gear from the top; PC with Tracktion Waveform 13 Using Adam
Szabo's Solaris set to Smooth Shimmer. Both programs are floating so
that I can see the video while making the audio track. Then a
passive mixer, a Behringer JT-4000M and the original Monotron.
